The People’s Defense Force in Chaung-U has confirmed that their drone strike on the military council’s Myapyarlae outpost in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, resulted in the death of two soldiers, including one officer. The attack was carried out at approximately 5:30 PM on March 6, targeting the outpost located along the Monywa-Mandalay highway with two drone-dropped bombs. During the attack, an artillery commander and another soldier who were having dinner inside the outpost were killed instantly, while five other soldiers sustained injuries.
The injured soldiers were evacuated to Monywa city in two armored vehicles at around 11:23 PM the same night. The bodies of the two deceased military council soldiers were given military funeral honors inside the Northwest Military Command headquarters at 10 AM on March 7. According to statements from revolutionary forces, this attack is part of their systematic targeting of military council outposts throughout the region. The precision strike demonstrates the increasing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting tactical operations against military installations.
In Tanintharyi Region, revolutionary forces also conducted a drone strike against the military council’s Infantry Battalion 558 in Tanintharyi Township, as confirmed by the Taung Pan Ni People’s Defense Force. The attack was carried out on March 1 through a joint operation between PDF Zone 4 and Zone 5 forces from Tanintharyi Township. While there were likely casualties among the military council troops, the exact numbers could not be immediately verified. The revolutionary forces reported that they successfully withdrew from the operation without suffering any casualties. This coordinated attack represents another example of the resistance forces’ growing tactical capabilities in their fight against the military council’s presence across different regions of Myanmar.
