
The People’s Defense Force in Chaung-U has confirmed that their drone strike on the military outpost in Myapyarlay, Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, resulted in the death of two military personnel, including one officer. The attack occurred on March 6 at approximately 5:30 PM, when revolutionary forces successfully launched two precision drone strikes on the military outpost located along the Monywa-Mandalay highway. The strike directly hit the target while military personnel were having their evening meal at the outpost.
During the attack, an artillery commander and another soldier were killed instantly, while five other military personnel sustained severe injuries. The wounded soldiers were evacuated to Monywa city in two armored vehicles at approximately 11:23 PM that night. According to reports from revolutionary forces, the bodies of the two deceased soldiers were given a military funeral ceremony inside the Northwest Military Command headquarters the following day, March 7, at 10 AM. The precision of the drone strike demonstrated the increasing capabilities of resistance forces in their campaign against military installations.
In a separate incident in Tanintharyi Region, revolutionary forces conducted another effective drone strike against the military council’s Infantry Battalion 558 in Tanintharyi Township. The operation was led by the Red Wing People’s Defense Force and took place on March 1, with the collaboration of resistance fighters from PDF Zones 4 and 5 of Tanintharyi Township. While there were likely casualties among military council troops during this attack, the exact number could not be immediately confirmed. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the operation without any casualties. These coordinated drone strikes represent a continuation of the revolutionary forces’ tactical operations against military council positions across the country.
