
According to an official from the Myingyan District Battalion No. 8, five military council soldiers were killed when revolutionary forces conducted a drone strike against military council troops attempting to set up an ambush position at mile marker 318 on the Yangon-Mandalay highway. The incident occurred around 2 PM on July 4, when military council forces stationed at Htinphalar Monastery in Nyaung Thone Gyi Township were moving to establish an ambush position at the location when revolutionary forces launched the drone attack.
The operation was jointly carried out by Myingyan District Battalion No. 8, Meiktila District Battalion No. 2, and Meiktila District Battalion No. 3. During the attack, revolutionary forces successfully withdrew without suffering any casualties. The military council confirmed the death of five of their soldiers in the aftermath of the strike.
Additionally, the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) conducted a drone strike against Artillery Unit 316, under Military Operations Command 19 based in Ye Town, along the Ye-Dawei road. The attack was carried out at 12:35 PM on July 7 in a joint operation between MSRF and the Dauna Battalion. Following the attack, there was no retaliatory fire from the military council, and revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without casualties. However, the exact extent of casualties and damage on the military council’s side has not yet been confirmed.
