
The Karen National Union (KNU) Myeik-Dawei District Secretary Saw Eh Nah has confirmed that revolutionary forces successfully captured a military council outpost in Hta Min Ma Sar village, Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region. The attack occurred at 7 AM on September 8, targeting military council forces consisting of approximately 40 personnel from Infantry Battalion 280, Artillery Battalion 309, and members of the No. 12 Military Training School who were stationed in the village. During the attack, most military council soldiers fled while some were killed, and the revolutionary forces seized one weapon, ammunition, and military equipment.
The operation was carried out by joint revolutionary forces including the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) under Military Division 4, KNDO Battalion 7, Companies 2 and 5, KNLA Special Forces, Palaw People’s Defense Force, and allied revolutionary groups. Simultaneously, in Magway Region’s Pwintbyu Township, two separate battles occurred between resistance forces and military council troops, resulting in 19 military council casualties, as confirmed by the Pwintbyu Township People’s Defense Force.
On September 6, a military column of about 30 personnel, including soldiers from the Pwintbyu Cotton Cultivation unit and Pyu Saw Htee militia members, advanced from Kyaung Kone Gyi village toward the north of Ma Day village. They encountered resistance forces, resulting in four military casualties. Later that day, around 4 PM, another military column of approximately 80 personnel from the May Zali Police Station reached Ma Day village monastery, where they were attacked by revolutionary forces. As the military council troops retreated, they were targeted with mines, resulting in 14 additional casualties. After the battles, military ambulances and hearses from Pwintbyu Township’s Thambandha arrived to transport the dead and wounded soldiers.
