
In Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, resistance forces attacked a military convoy, resulting in the death of 11 soldiers, according to an official from the Pakokku District Battalion 4, Company 1. The attack occurred on April 27 when People’s Defense Forces ambushed two military vehicles near Thyapyin village while they were en route from Seikphyu to Strategic Command 21. One military vehicle crashed off the road during the attack, leading to 11 soldier fatalities and three severe injuries.
The operation was jointly conducted by Pakokku District Battalion 4 Companies 1 and 2, along with Pakokku District Battalion 8. One resistance fighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the engagement. The resistance forces had to retreat after military reinforcements arrived, managing to evacuate their wounded comrades. The official explained that the withdrawal was necessitated by ammunition and weapons shortages.
In Kawthaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, resistance forces launched an attack on May 2 at approximately 10:30 AM against a military column of about 50 soldiers traveling in four small boats. The attack took place near Kyaukpan Port along Creek No. 1 in Malewan Village Tract, where resistance forces employed mines and engaged in an hour-long firefight with the military troops. While there were confirmed casualties on the military council’s side, the exact number could not be verified, according to Fighter Phil Nist from the Flying Dragon Force.
The Kawthaung operation was a coordinated effort between Kawthaung Township Local Defense Force, PDF Flying Dragon Force, and the Urban Guerrilla Bo Thaman Kyar Group. Military tensions continue to remain high in the area following the engagement. Resistance forces maintain their surveillance of military council movements and stand ready to respond as necessary to protect civilian populations from military aggression.
