A military outpost in Madauk area of Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, came under sniper attack from revolutionary forces, resulting in the death of one soldier, according to a spokesperson from the Fire Dragon group. The attack occurred around 10:39 AM on August 23, targeting a military checkpoint manned by approximately 40 personnel. The strategic operation focused on the military outpost positioned along the Madauk road section, where the occupying forces had established a significant presence.
Following the attack, military forces stationed at a religious building near Pazun Myaing bridge responded with 40mm artillery fire. However, the revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties. The Fire Dragon group confirmed that one military soldier was killed instantly during the initial attack. The military presence in the area consisted of approximately 40 personnel at the time of the engagement, highlighting the significant scale of the military deployment in the region.
Simultaneously, in Salin Township of Magway Region, revolutionary forces successfully engaged a military patrol unit, as reported by the Daung Nyi Naung Guerrilla Force. The confrontation occurred on August 22 when military personnel and Pyu Saw Htee members from the Lin Zin police station encountered landmines planted by revolutionary forces while conducting their patrol. The ensuing battle resulted in military casualties, forcing the entire military column to retreat to Lin Zin police station while carrying their deceased personnel. This incident demonstrates the ongoing resistance activities against military forces across different regions of Myanmar, with revolutionary forces maintaining active operations against military targets.
