A military column of approximately 100 personnel from Khin-U town in Sagaing Region was ambushed by revolutionary forces, resulting in military casualties, according to a spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Ye-U Township. The battle occurred on August 28 near the eastern part of Man Kyee Tun village, where intense fighting broke out between the revolutionary forces and the military column that had departed from Khin-U town. The military forces suffered significant casualties during the engagement, forcing the entire column to retreat back to the town.
The revolutionary forces pursued the retreating military column up to the vicinity of Ye-U town. However, they had to withdraw when soldiers from Military Training Base No. 8 in Shwebo provided artillery support using howitzers. The operation was jointly carried out by the People’s Defense Forces from Khin-U Township, Ye-U Township’s armed wing, and Kanbalu District PDF mobile forces. The coordinated attack demonstrated the growing capabilities of the resistance forces in the region.
In a separate incident in Magway Region, revolutionary forces conducted three drone strikes against military personnel who had emerged from the Kamma town police station for patrol duties. According to a representative from the RED GIANT group, the attacks took place on September 1, resulting in military casualties, though the exact number could not be immediately verified. The resistance forces successfully withdrew from the operation without suffering any casualties. The drone attacks represent an increasingly common tactic employed by revolutionary forces against military targets.
The military presence in Kamma town is estimated to be around thirty personnel, with at least three soldiers believed to have been wounded in the attack. Revolutionary forces have warned local civilians to remain vigilant, particularly during the afternoon hours between 2 PM and 3 PM when military patrols typically occur. The operation was conducted through collaboration between the RED GIANT group and the Garuda Guerrilla Forces, highlighting the ongoing coordination between various resistance groups in their campaign against military forces.
