Revolutionary forces have launched a grenade attack on the military council-controlled ward administrator’s office in Ward 141 of Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region. The attack occurred at 10:01 PM on March 8, carried out through a joint operation between the Yangon Army (YA) and the Western District People’s Defense Force. A representative from the Yangon Army provided detailed information about the attack to the Yangon Modern News Agency.
According to the revolutionary forces, the attack was carried out in response to the continuous oppression and abuse of local residents by the ward administrator and his subordinates. Under the military council’s administrative system, ward administrators have been actively involved in forcing civilians into military service, conducting arbitrary arrests, extorting money, and intimidating local residents. The revolutionary forces explained that this operation was necessary to protect the security and rights of the local population who have been suffering under the military council’s oppressive local administration system.
The Yangon Army representative confirmed that the ward administrator and other military council affiliates were likely casualties in the attack. Furthermore, they affirmed their commitment to continuing attacks on significant military council targets until the complete collapse of the violent military dictatorship. The revolutionary forces clarified that such targets are chosen specifically because the military council uses ward administrators as instruments of oppression against civilians, making these administrative offices legitimate military targets in their resistance against the regime’s systematic oppression of the people.
