The Yangon Army and allied forces conducted an attack on the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) office in North Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region. The attack, which occurred around 10 PM on July 11, targeted activities related to the military council’s planned election. The operation was carried out using a 79mm launcher to fire two 40mm bombs at the facility, according to reports from the Yangon Army and Western District PDF forces.
At the time of the attack, election-related activities were being conducted at the USDP office, which was under the protection of military council security forces. The attack resulted in injuries to several military council soldiers and caused damage to the party office building and a party-owned vehicle. The attacking forces successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties, as confirmed by a Yangon Army spokesperson. The operation specifically targeted the military council’s election-related activities and those involved in organizing the illegal election.
The following morning, military council forces implemented tight security measures in the area and conducted patrols around the party office vicinity. A spokesperson for the Yangon Army issued a warning that they would continue to target and attack activities related to the military council’s illegal election, as well as those participating in its organization. The resistance forces maintain their stance against the military council’s attempts to legitimize their rule through unauthorized electoral processes, emphasizing their commitment to opposing such activities through continued military operations.
