A spokesperson from the Federal Polaris Force has confirmed that revolutionary forces conducted an attack on a police station occupied by military council troops in Longlone Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in the death of one military council soldier. The attack occurred around 11:00 AM on June 24, with no casualties reported among the revolutionary forces.
During the attack, approximately thirty military council soldiers were stationed inside the police station, with a total of about fifty troops including those deployed at nearby bank and administrative offices. The primary objective of the attack was to divert the military council’s attention from their activities in Kanyunkwin village area, where they had been confiscating motorcycles, looting properties, and burning houses. The revolutionary forces aimed to reduce these disruptions to local communities by forcing the military council troops to focus on defending their position.
The operation was carried out through a joint effort of the Federal Polaris Force, Dana Column 7, Dawei Liberation Army, and Dawei District People’s Defense Force. While the exact number of military council casualties beyond the confirmed death remains unclear, the revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area after the attack. The police station and the administrative office were separated by just one street, with the attack specifically targeting the police station installation.
