Revolutionary forces successfully launched an artillery attack on a military council training camp for new recruits in Myaing Township, Magway Region, according to a spokesperson from the Pwetaingkyaw Artillery Force. The attack, which took place on the morning of July 11, was carried out without any casualties on the revolutionary forces’ side, and they were able to withdraw safely after the operation.
According to Ko Phyo, the commander of the Pwetaingkyaw Artillery Force, the attack lasted for one hour from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. The training camp housed approximately 150 personnel, including military council soldiers and trainees, of whom about 70 were forcibly recruited civilians undergoing training. The joint operation involved two revolutionary groups using 20 artillery pieces to target the facility. While the exact number of casualties on the military council’s side could not be immediately confirmed, reports indicate significant impacts from the attack.
The Pwetaingkyaw Artillery Force has pledged to continue their resistance until the complete collapse of the military dictatorship. They stated that this operation was specifically conducted to counter the military council’s forced recruitment of civilians into their ranks. The revolutionary forces emphasized that they will continue to target such training facilities where civilians are being coerced into military service. This attack represents part of the broader resistance movement against the military council’s oppressive practices, including their policy of forced military service and violence against civilians.
