
The resistance forces successfully attacked a military council naval fleet traveling up the Chindwin River in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the destruction of two vessels and casualties among military council troops, according to Moe Thauk, the attack commander of Salingyi Township’s Monywa Inventor armed group.
The attack took place around 1 PM on July 8, when revolutionary forces intercepted a military council fleet of 33 vessels moving upstream along the Chindwin River in Salingyi Township. During the engagement, one military vessel caught fire and was destroyed, while another vessel was also damaged and became stranded along the riverbank. While there were confirmed casualties among military council troops, the exact number could not be verified at the time of reporting.
The joint operation involved multiple resistance groups including Salingyi Township’s Monywa Inventor force, Chindwin Dynamite, Solo Aung Gyi, Thaung Pan Ni Special Guerrilla Force, Commando Force Monywa District Battalion (4) Company (2), Monywa District, and Township B4 groups. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the operation without sustaining any casualties. Local residents were unable to return to their village due to security concerns, as one of the damaged vessels remained stranded near their community.
