The Taungdaung People’s Revolutionary Force has reported that three military council soldiers were killed during an attack on junta troops stationed at a monastery in Kyaukphya Village, Pyawbwe Township, Mandalay Region. The attack took place around 6:30 AM on June 10th, targeting approximately 30 military council soldiers who had been using the monastery as their base. According to reports, the revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the operation without suffering any casualties.
The joint operation was carried out by the People’s Defense Forces from Taungdaung People’s Defense Force of Yamethin District, Pyawbwe Township People’s Defense Force, and Thazi Township People’s Defense Force. Local sources indicated that the military council troops had been using the monastery in Kyaukphya Village as a military outpost and had been intimidating and oppressing local civilians. The revolutionary forces planned and executed the attack to remove the military presence from the area. The successful operation demonstrated the continued resistance against the military council’s occupation of civilian areas and religious buildings.
