Revolutionary forces successfully launched attacks on military council positions in Salingyi town, Sagaing Region, targeting a police station and administrative office where junta forces were stationed. The attack took place around 10 AM on March 7, when resistance forces including the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force used 60mm and 80mm heavy weapons to strike locations where approximately 80 military council troops were positioned. The coordinated assault was carried out by multiple revolutionary groups working together.
Although the military council forces responded with small arms fire, the resistance forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. The operation was jointly conducted by Chindwin Dynamite (Salingyi), Yinmabin District Battalion Unit 3, Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force (Salingyi), and SOLO AUNG GYI (Salingyi) forces. The attacking forces fired approximately 25 heavy artillery rounds during the operation. The resistance forces are continuing to enhance their capabilities and planning further operations according to resistance leaders.
In a separate incident on the same day, resistance forces successfully ambushed military council infantry troops who were returning from patrol duties on the Monywa-Mandalay road. The incident occurred when 23 military council soldiers, who had been providing security for a convoy delivering weapons and ammunition to Myapyugyi Gate checkpoint from Northwestern Command headquarters in Monywa, were returning to their base. The resistance forces used Padamya-type mines in the attack near the Monywa toll gate. The operation was carried out through coordination between Chaung-U Township PDF CHU PDF Unit 1, Special Forces 11-LPDF, and Monywa Dynamite (STF). While casualties were reported on the military council side, the exact numbers are still being verified according to resistance sources.
