Revolutionary forces successfully launched attacks on military council positions in Salingyi town, Sagaing Region, targeting a police station and administrative office where junta troops were stationed. According to the leader of the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force, the attack was carried out using heavy weapons on March 7 at around 10 AM. The offensive targeted approximately 80 military council troops using 60mm and 80mm heavy weapons.
While casualties were reported on the military council’s side, the exact numbers are still being investigated. Although the junta troops responded with small arms fire, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. The coordinated attack involved multiple resistance groups including the Chindwin Dynamite group, Yinmabin District Battalion, Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force, and other revolutionary units working in collaboration.
Simultaneously, resistance forces conducted a successful mine attack against military council troops who were returning from patrol duties on the Monywa-Mandalay road. The incident occurred when 23 soldiers, who had been providing security for a military convoy transporting weapons and ammunition to Myapyugyi Gate checkpoint from Northwestern Command headquarters in Monywa, were returning to their base on the evening of March 7. The resistance forces used Padamya mines in the attack, resulting in significant casualties among the military council troops, though the exact numbers are still being verified. This operation was jointly carried out by Chaung-U Township PDF and other revolutionary forces in the area, demonstrating the continued coordination and effectiveness of resistance operations against military council targets in the region.
