Revolutionary forces successfully launched attacks on military council positions in Salingyi town, Sagaing Region, targeting a police station and administrative office where junta troops were stationed. According to the leader of the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force, the attack took place around 10 AM on March 7, when resistance forces used 60mm and 80mm heavy weapons to strike locations where approximately 80 military council troops were positioned. Although the military council forces responded with small arms fire, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties.
The coordinated attack involved multiple resistance groups, including the Chindwin Dynamite group, Yinmabin District Battalion, Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force, and other revolutionary units. The resistance forces fired 25 heavy artillery rounds during the operation, causing significant damage to the military council’s positions. While the exact number of military council casualties could not be immediately confirmed, reports indicated explosions occurred within their compound. The resistance forces stated that they continue to enhance their capabilities and are planning more sophisticated operations in support of the civilian population.
Simultaneously, resistance forces conducted a successful mine attack against military council troops returning from patrol duties on the Monywa-Mandalay road. After the military council had transported weapons and ammunition to the Myapyugyi checkpoint using three vehicles from the Northwestern Command headquarters in Monywa, a group of 23 soldiers who had provided security were targeted with Padaythar mines. This operation was carried out through collaboration between Chaung-U Township PDF, Special Forces 11-LPDF, and Monywa Dynamite (STF). The resistance forces are still gathering information about the exact number of military council casualties from this attack. These coordinated actions demonstrate the continuing efforts of revolutionary forces to challenge the military council’s control in the Sagaing Region.
