
On March 8, revolutionary forces launched simultaneous attacks on three military council positions in Longlone Town, Tanintharyi Region, beginning around 6 AM. The targeted locations included a police station, General Administration Department office, and a military security force office, according to local residents. During the clashes, the military council’s navy and troops from Dawei fired heavy artillery at Longlone town and surrounding villages, forcing many local civilians to flee to safety.
The fighting concluded around noon, after which the revolutionary forces withdrew from the area. Following their withdrawal, the military council forces closed off the Kyamaukgyi Bridge connecting Dawei and Longlone, and began reinforcing their troops in the area. Local sources confirmed that after blocking the bridge, the military council has prohibited all travel and additional forces have arrived from the Dawei side. Furthermore, the military council forces continue to fire heavy artillery, and local revolutionary organizations have warned civilians to remain vigilant as airstrikes may be possible.
