A spokesperson from Battalion 1005 Southern Shan State has confirmed that revolutionary forces successfully attacked military troops and PNO forces conducting operations in Hsihseng Township, Shan State, resulting in 20 military casualties and the capture of one soldier along with weapons. The clash occurred on August 6 when a combined force of approximately 200 military and PNO personnel entered Kaintaing village. During the engagement, six resistance fighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the captured soldier is currently being interrogated at a designated facility.
According to the official from Battalion 1005, although the military column retreated following the battle, they continue to conduct drone strikes in the area. However, there have been no further ground operations by the military forces. The military column, during their withdrawal, destroyed five IDP shelters by burning them down. The captured soldier’s weapons have been confiscated, and further action will be taken against him. The successful operation was carried out through coordination between Battalion 1005 Southern Shan forces and their allies.
The confrontation demonstrates the ongoing resistance against military operations in the region, with revolutionary forces maintaining their defensive positions while protecting civilian areas. The military’s destruction of IDP shelters highlights their continued targeting of civilian infrastructure, even as they face significant losses in direct engagements with resistance forces. The collaborative effort between various revolutionary groups proved effective in repelling the military advance and securing a tactical victory in the area.
