The battle lasted approximately 6 hours and was a strategically planned operation by the revolutionary forces. The seized weapons included one MA-3 rifle, nine ammunition magazines, three hand grenades, and other military equipment.
The operation was led by the Dawei National Liberation Army (Duraka Column) in collaboration with the Yephyu People’s Defense Force and Dawei District Battalion 2. As military operations are intensifying across the country, revolutionary forces have advised local civilians to remain vigilant and exercise caution in their daily activities. The revolutionary forces have also issued statements welcoming any military council soldiers and police force members who wish to defect and join the people’s side.
The revolutionary forces have particularly emphasized that as the momentum of the revolution increases, military personnel and police force members who wish to stand on the side of truth are encouraged to seek refuge with the public as soon as possible. Currently, revolutionary forces’ operations in the Tanintharyi Region are gaining strength, resulting in significant losses for the military council forces. The successful capture of the Tower Hill Camp represents another strategic victory for the revolutionary forces in their ongoing struggle against the military council’s oppression.
