
A representative from the Chyomemei-Yinmabin Township Allied Forces confirmed that revolutionary forces successfully attacked a military council convoy that departed from Monywa city on March 4th in the evening. The battle occurred around 3:10 PM when allied revolutionary forces engaged two armored military vehicles on the Monywa-Mandalay road section.
During the battle, the revolutionary forces conducted a mine attack on the military council’s armored jammer vehicle, causing it to stop immediately. The other military vehicle was also destroyed through small arms fire. During the engagement, the military council provided artillery support from their bases at Chaung-U Township Agriculture Office and Myapyugyi, firing 120mm heavy weapons. Additionally, the Northwest Military Command provided air support using engine-equipped paratroopers.
In this battle, the military council suffered 17 casualties, including a deputy lieutenant, while one revolutionary fighter was wounded. After the battle, the revolutionary forces destroyed both military vehicles by burning them and captured significant weapons and ammunition. The seized weapons included four MA-1 rifles, one MA-3, three MA-11s, one G-3, one G-1, one 60mm mortar, one 40mm rotating gun, and 22 various ammunition boxes. Following the battle, local civilians welcomed and honored the revolutionary forces for their success.
