A spokesperson from the Warazein Force has confirmed that resistance forces successfully conducted two intercept operations against military troops in Taunggoo Township, Bago Region, resulting in five military casualties. The operations took place near Padae village and North Village Monastery on August 27 and 28, when revolutionary forces engaged with three military columns consisting of approximately 150 troops that were conducting operations in the area.
The engagement lasted over an hour, with four military personnel killed in the initial clash and another eliminated by sniper fire the following day. Although the military forces responded with RPGs, machine guns, and 120mm heavy weapons, the resistance forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. This coordinated attack was carried out through the joint efforts of the Warazein Force, Red Scarf Column, and Northern Thantaung People’s Defense Force.
Simultaneously, resistance forces conducted operations against military vessels in the Chindwin River near Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. On August 27 at approximately 2 PM, People’s Defense Forces attacked a military convoy consisting of two warships and eight tugboats that were traveling upstream to transport copper from the Wanbao company in Salingyi Township. The resistance forces deployed five mines in two locations along the river route.
The attack continued with small arms fire, which prompted return fire from military forces. While casualties were reported on the military side, exact numbers are still being verified. This operation was jointly conducted by the Chindwin Fighter Group and Brave Heart Army, with all resistance fighters successfully withdrawing from the area after the engagement. The revolutionary forces have emphasized their commitment to maintaining unity between different resistance groups and their determination to continue fighting until the complete removal of the military dictatorship system.
