Members of ‘The Last Generation Unit’, a revolutionary citizens’ group, carried out bold anti-military protest activities in Yangon on June 1st, despite heavy security presence by the military council forces. The activists conducted their operations at crowded railway stations and bus stops, displaying messages that read ‘Uproot the Evil Military’, demonstrating their continued resistance against the military dictatorship.
Despite the military council’s deployment of security forces, intelligence personnel, and informants throughout the city, particularly in areas where public gatherings might occur, revolutionary forces continue to carry out their activities fearlessly. These acts of resistance have helped boost the morale of citizens who are fighting against the military dictatorship. The military council’s extensive surveillance and security measures have failed to suppress the spirit of resistance among the people.
While the terrorist military council continues to commit daily acts of oppression, torture, killings, and arbitrary arrests against civilians, the revolutionary spirit of the people has grown stronger and more determined. The ability to conduct such protest activities in crowded public areas serves as evidence that the military dictatorship’s administrative mechanisms are failing. These acts of resistance demonstrate the unwavering determination of the Myanmar people to continue their struggle against military rule, despite the risks and challenges they face under the oppressive regime.
