
According to a statement released by Battalion 4 and Battalion 10 of Myingyan District, resistance forces successfully intercepted and attacked a vehicle carrying military council troops in Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in three casualties among the military council forces and the seizure of multiple weapons. The incident occurred around 3:12 PM on August 5, 2023, when revolutionary forces ambushed a military council vehicle traveling from Kana village to Pyinsi village along the Kana-Pyinsi road in Natogyi Township.
During the attack, three military council soldiers were killed while two others managed to escape. The vehicle was overturned in the attack and was subsequently burned by the resistance forces. The revolutionary forces successfully seized several weapons and ammunition from the military council troops, including one M-79 weapon, three MA-3 rifles, 215 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, one 40mm grenade, one hand grenade, and five ammunition magazines. The resistance forces reported that they were able to withdraw safely from the operation without suffering any casualties.
This successful operation demonstrates the continued intensification of resistance activities in the Natogyi region, with revolutionary forces maintaining constant surveillance of military council movements and conducting strategic attacks. The statement released by the battalion indicates that such operations are being carried out to defend local civilians against the military council’s acts of violence.
