Resistance forces launched an attack on a military outpost in Pazun Myaung village, Nyaung Lay Pin Township, Bago Region, using heavy weapons and sniper fire, resulting in the death of two soldiers. The attack was carried out by the People’s Defense Force Battalion 3703 (Fire Dragon P2-3703) on the evening of April 21. The operation targeted both the military’s drone unit base and positions at the Tayar Bridge, employing 60mm mortars and precision sniper fire in a coordinated assault.
The attack began at approximately 3:20 PM when resistance forces first targeted the military’s drone unit base with two 60mm mortar rounds. Subsequently, they launched similar artillery strikes against military positions at the Tayar Bridge. During the operation, resistance forces successfully engaged soldiers fleeing from the bridge with sniper fire, resulting in one casualty. At 4:58 PM, an additional 60mm mortar attack was conducted against the military position at Tayar Bridge, leading to another soldier’s death. The precision of the artillery strikes was noted, with rounds landing in close proximity to enemy positions.
Following the attacks, military forces have reportedly regrouped and reinforced their positions in the Kyan Bo Kon and Mukhamu areas. The resistance forces were able to withdraw successfully without sustaining any casualties. According to battle reports, the artillery strikes effectively hit their intended targets and successfully disrupted military movements in the area. The operation demonstrated the resistance forces’ capability to conduct coordinated attacks using both heavy weapons and precision fire, while maintaining tactical superiority in their withdrawal. The military’s response has primarily focused on reinforcing their positions rather than launching immediate counterattacks, indicating the effectiveness of the resistance operation.
