
Thousands of civilians from Nyaung-U Township in Mandalay Region are being forced to flee their homes due to ongoing military operations by the terrorist army, according to confirmation from Black Eagle PDF-Bagan officials. On July 31, a military column of over 100 troops departed from Ganga Village and entered Kyato Village in Nyaung-U Township, equipped with various weapons and military supplies. During their raid on Kyato Village, the military forces forcibly looted valuable possessions from villagers’ homes before proceeding toward Taungzin Police Station. Along their route, they arrested three innocent civilians from Kan Gyi Kone Village who remain in detention as of today, according to local sources. The military operations have caused residents to flee from 17 villages including Ywa Thar, Nyaung Hla, Saka, Myay Thant Taung, Kyato, Uyaung, Myay Laung Phyar, Ywa Thit, Kyauk Pyin Kan, Gyo Kan, Kyauk Kan, Taw Ywa, Kan Ni Pauk, Thant Shin Kan, Kan Gyi Kone, Anauk Ohn and Chaung Shay villages.
After arresting three civilians from Kan Gyi Kone Village, the military column passed through Chaung Shay Village before reaching Taungzin Police Station. The arrested individuals are all men who were taken into custody on August 2, as explained by Comrade Zithi from Black Eagle PDF-Bagan. While some villagers have been able to return to their homes, the majority remain displaced in safer locations. Local residents report that military operations in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region have intensified since early May, with increased frequency of troop movements and raids on civilian areas. The ongoing military presence and operations continue to create an atmosphere of fear and instability in the region, forcing thousands of civilians to abandon their homes and livelihoods to seek safety elsewhere.
