
Police have announced the arrest of real estate agent Sai Tun Naw (aka) Ko Sai, who murdered and robbed retired professor Dr. Htwe Htwe in Mandalay after luring her under the pretense of showing property. The incident occurred on the morning of April 25th when the suspect, who was known to the victim, invited the retired professor from the Department of Zoology to view some real estate in Pyigyidagun Township. The suspect then took Dr. Htwe Htwe to an uninhabited single-story building located in a field near the canal in Yaykhout Village, Pyigyidagun Township, where he assaulted and killed her before stealing her jewelry and other possessions.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator Sai Tun Naw (aka) Ko Sai and the victim Dr. Htwe Htwe were previously friends who had worked together in real estate transactions. Police investigations led to the arrest of the suspect around 10 AM on May 1st in Heho city. The suspect is currently being held at the Pyigyidagun Township Police Station on murder charges, and legal proceedings are underway according to the police statement. The case has highlighted the importance of taking precautions even when dealing with known associates in business transactions.
