A member of the Pyu Saw Htee militia was killed during an attack in Htone Bo Township, Bago Region, on September 3rd. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM when revolutionary forces ambushed a motorcycle convoy led by Pyu Saw Htee leader Wana from Ayemyathaya town. The convoy was reportedly advancing into the Bago Yoma area to clear the way for military council troops to establish a presence in the region.
The attack took place on the embankment of the Sone Kyu Creek Dam, where resistance forces were waiting to intercept the five-motorcycle convoy. During the ensuing firefight, Pyu Saw Htee member Kyaw Win Sein was killed at the scene while the remaining militia members fled after exchanging fire. The resistance forces also managed to seize one motorcycle during the operation. According to officials from the Thayawady District Battalion 3802 Company 4 Underground Guerrilla Force, the targeted Pyu Saw Htee group had been forcibly recruiting local youth as porters and extorting money from civilians in the area.
The resistance forces acted on intelligence received from local residents about the movement of the Pyu Saw Htee group. Following the attack, it was reported that Pyu leader Wana has gone into hiding, too afraid to stay at his home in Ayemyathaya town for fear of further attacks. The Thayawady District Battalion 3802 Company 4 Underground Guerrilla Force has issued warnings to civilians to avoid areas where military council forces and their affiliated groups operate, as they continue their operations against these targets. The resistance group emphasized their commitment to targeting the military council and its support structures while protecting civilian populations from their oppressive activities.
