A Pyu Saw Htee member who was on guard duty at a watchtower in Kan Ni Pyu Saw Htee village, Myaing Township, Magway Region, was killed after being shot by People’s Defense Force (PDF) snipers. The incident occurred on the morning of March 19, when resistance forces conducted a targeted operation against the military-affiliated guard post. The victim was struck by sniper fire and fell from the watchtower, resulting in immediate death.
The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort of multiple resistance groups, including MPL Northern Zone (Myaing-PDF), Man Kyi Yeik Ko Ye PDF, Ko Gatone Territory-4 PDF, Thyawta PDF, and Ko Leo Eagle Brigade. Following the initial attack, military forces responded with a large deployment, leading to an exchange of fire between both sides. The resistance forces strategically withdrew from the area after the engagement due to the military’s superior numbers.
According to a representative from the MPL Northern Zone, the operation was precisely executed with sniper fire, followed by a tactical withdrawal when the military responded with overwhelming force. The spokesperson confirmed that all resistance fighters successfully retreated without any casualties on their side. This operation represents part of the ongoing revolutionary activities aimed at dismantling the military dictatorship’s control over the region. The coordinated nature of the attack demonstrates the increasing cooperation between various resistance groups in their fight against military rule.
