A Pyu Saw Htee member died during an encounter with revolutionary forces in Letpadan Township, Bago Region, as confirmed by an official from the Shwetanmyay People’s Defense Force. The incident occurred around 10 AM on June 7th when revolutionary forces stopped and questioned Aye Myoe Aung, age 30, who was found gathering intelligence about revolutionary force movements near the outskirts of Letpadan Township. During the initial inspection, the forces discovered his identification card and a mobile phone.
While examining his phone, they intercepted an incoming call from another Pyu Saw Htee member who was inquiring about locations. Upon further questioning, Aye Myoe Aung revealed that he was a resident of Naga Ni 4th Street in Sate Taing Ward, Gyobingauk Township. He admitted to being a member of the Pyu Saw Htee organization and confirmed that he had undergone military training. He also disclosed that there were eight Pyu Saw Htee members, including himself, operating in the Sate Taing Ward area, and they would carry out tasks when summoned by the military council.
As revolutionary forces prepared to conduct a more thorough investigation, Aye Myoe Aung suddenly attempted to escape. During the pursuit that followed, shots were fired, resulting in his death from gunshot wounds. The incident highlights the increasing concerns about military council informants and Pyu Saw Htee members infiltrating areas where revolutionary forces operate. In response to these security challenges, revolutionary forces have intensified their surveillance and screening procedures. The Shwetanmyay People’s Defense Force has issued an advisory for traveling merchants from other regions to coordinate their movements through local contacts and trusted residents to ensure safety and prevent misunderstandings.
