
A Pyu Saw Htee member from Aung Thar Village Pyu camp in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, has defected to the people’s side along with his family and military equipment, as confirmed by an official from the Ayar Daung Force. On June 12 at approximately 11:00 AM, the Pyu Saw Htee member arrived with his family members, bringing with him one G3 rifle, eight ammunition magazines, 356 rounds of ammunition, one set of military equipment, and one Inaga bomb. He surrendered to the Pakokku District People’s Defense Force Battalion 5 (Ayar Daung Force).
The family members of the defecting Pyu Saw Htee member have been safely relocated to a liberated area, and the defector has expressed his intention to fight against the military council. The Ayar Daung Force official stated that they are calling on remaining Pyu Saw Htee members to recognize the truth and defect to the people’s side. The Pakokku District People’s Defense Force Battalion 5 (Ayar Daung Force) has awarded the defecting Pyu Saw Htee member with 5 million kyats and relocated him to a secure location.
Additionally, on June 7, a new recruit named Ko Htet Lin Aung (aka) Ko Kyaw, who was among 140 new recruits transported by helicopter from Monywa Northwest Command Headquarters to Kan Daung camp, has also defected to the Yinmabin District Battalion 12. He brought with him one MA1 rifle, 45 rounds of ammunition, one bomb, and one mine. The new recruit had been forcibly conscripted while in detention and was sent to Infantry Battalion 5 in October 2024. He had undergone five months of military training in Yeini and Taungoo cities, followed by two months of frontline duty before his defection.
