A Pyu Saw Htee leader named Thein Zaw Aye, who was responsible for leading village burnings in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Township, was killed in an attack by revolutionary forces. According to an official from Myeik District Battalion 1, the incident occurred around 9 AM on March 27 when Thein Zaw Aye, the Pyu Saw Htee leader from Shat Pon village in Palaw Township, was traveling along the Min Thiri village road. Revolutionary forces launched an attack, resulting in his immediate death.
The deceased Pyu Saw Htee leader Thein Zaw Aye had committed numerous crimes following the military coup, including arresting Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) staff members who participated in anti-coup activities, extorting money through threats, and participating in village burnings while accompanying military columns. His actions had caused local residents to flee their homes and lose their lives and property. The attack was carried out through joint operations between the People’s Defense Force, Myeik District Battalion 1, and the Myeik District People’s Defense Team.
An official from Myeik District Battalion 1 warned that those serving under the fascist military would face elimination if they did not surrender peacefully and enter the light. Furthermore, Myeik District Battalion 1 announced that they would continue to destroy all pillars of support for the military regime without delay, while extending an invitation to surrender to military personnel, police, Pyu Saw Htee members, and ward/village administrators currently serving under the military council.
