
The Strategic Command No. 27 spokesperson Comrade Aye Min Tun has announced that Pyu Saw Htee leader Hlaing Min and four other members who were arrested at Kadat Creek waterfall near Kinmun village at the foot of Kyaiktiyo will remain in custody and face legal action. The arrests took place on April 15 at a restaurant in Kadat Creek, Kyaikto Township, where Nyaunglebin Township’s Pyu Saw Htee leader U Hlaing Min, deputy leader May Gyi, and 48 family members were detained while they were drinking and intoxicated. The People’s Defense Force of Kyaikto Township successfully captured them alive.
Among those arrested, Pyu Saw Htee leader Hlaing Min, deputy leader May Gyi, member Min Maw Oo (Hlaing Min’s son), Kyaw Kyaw Oo, Thein Htay, and Hlaing Min’s wife Yaminn remain in custody, while the remaining family members were released on April 18. The Pyu Saw Htee group has been found to have collaborated with the terrorist military’s 20th Infantry Battalion in burning down villages, stealing public property, brutally killing civilians and hiding their bodies, selling stolen goods and sharing proceeds with Infantry Battalion 20, and various other crimes.
Furthermore, they worked with Major Nay Lin of the Nyaunglebin Township Administrative Council to arrest young people and send them to Infantry Battalion 440 (Daik-U), as well as selling motorcycles confiscated from young people and sharing the profits with Major Nay Lin. The location where they were arrested is only half a mile from the Kinmun security outpost at the foot of Kyaiktiyo, where the military council maintains full security presence, approximately a five-minute motorcycle ride away. The authorities have stated that they will thoroughly investigate the crimes committed by the detained Pyu Saw Htee members and ensure appropriate punishment based on their offenses.
