People’s Defense Forces have successfully captured a prominent Pyu Saw Htee leader known as Ah Shay Gyi (also called Du Shay) in Pakokku City, Magway Region. The arrest took place on May 9th in the evening between Streets 6 and 7 of the Industrial Zone in Pakokku, where the individual had been residing. The operation was carried out through a joint effort between the Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) forces and the Nagar Min People’s Defense Force.
The captured individual has been identified as a significant figure in military council operations and was widely known for committing acts of oppression and torture against local civilians. During the arrest, several military equipment items were also seized. Both the detainee and the seized materials were subsequently transferred to the local People’s Defense Force, as confirmed by Colonel Mike Khae, the leader of the Myingyan Black Tiger forces.
Explaining the circumstances of the arrest, Colonel Mike Khae revealed that while the original operation had a different target, they encountered the Pyu Saw Htee leader by chance during their mission. Following the capture, preliminary interrogations were conducted before promptly transferring him to local resistance forces. In a statement released by the participating forces, they emphasized their commitment to taking legal action against anyone found oppressing civilians. The joint forces have made it clear that they will continue to pursue and hold accountable those who commit acts of violence and oppression against the people.
