According to military sources in Naypyidaw, the air force under the terrorist military council will continue their aerial operations without rest during the upcoming Thingyan New Year holiday period. While the military council has announced a 9-day holiday break from April 13 to 21 for civilian government offices and staff, military personnel, especially those in the air force, will continue to operate on rotation. Air force officers, pilots, and airmen will not receive any holiday break and will continue their operations, necessitating public vigilance against potential air strikes.
Military officers and personnel will continue working at temporary military offices, while inspections are being carried out on military buildings damaged by recent earthquakes. While repair and reconstruction work is ongoing, temporary military offices have been established at designated locations and are functioning normally. Military sources in Naypyidaw have confirmed that military personnel assigned to temporary offices will continue their regular duties on rotation during the Thingyan period.
Although the terrorist military has announced a 20-day temporary ceasefire from April 2 to 22, the National Unity Government (NUG) and revolutionary forces have reported that the military continues to conduct offensive operations, aerial attacks, and arbitrary arrests and killings of innocent civilians across the country. As the military council continues to violate its own ceasefire announcement and commit war crimes, warnings have emerged for the public to remain especially vigilant during the Thingyan period. The military’s disregard for its declared ceasefire and continued aggression against civilians highlights the need for heightened awareness and caution during what should be a festive holiday season.
