
On June 18, a public strike march was held in a village in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, to commemorate the upcoming 80th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The march was jointly organized by the Monywa Township People’s Strike Leading Committee, the 5/Ayartaw People’s Strike group, and local defense forces, with strong participation from local residents.
During the march, participants carried banners with the message ‘Continue to Fight for the Liberation of the Whole Country along with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.’ Local civilians united in their demands for the end of the military dictatorship, the establishment of a federal democratic system, and the release of political prisoners. The demonstration represented a significant show of solidarity among local residents.
