
On March 27, the Shwe Yay Kyun People’s Strike Column conducted a protest march in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, to express their opposition to the military dictatorship. Local residents of Yinmabin Township loudly voiced their rejection of the military coup and opposition to the military dictatorship. Protesters carried signs supporting the National Unity Government (NUG) and People’s Defense Forces as they marched through the area.
During the protest, participants chanted slogans calling for the complete elimination of the military dictatorship, the establishment of a federal democratic system, and the release of political prisoners. They highlighted the oppression, human rights violations, and economic hardships that people are enduring under military rule, making their voices heard to the international community. The protest was conducted peacefully and received support from local residents.
Yinmabin Township is one of the areas in Sagaing Region where anti-military dictatorship activities remain strong. Since the military coup, local residents have continuously engaged in activities opposing the authoritarian regime. Despite intimidation and oppression from the military council, people continue to fight unitedly for democracy.
