The Free Burma Action Committee-Northern California led a public protest in front of San Francisco City Hall in California, United States. This marked the 162nd consecutive ground protest under the banner ‘Preemptively Destroy the Enemy’s Trap of Illegal Elections by Any Means Necessary, Attack from the Front, Don’t Follow from Behind.’
During the demonstration, protesters declared that the election planned by the military council is illegitimate and demanded an end to the military council’s violence against civilians, affirming their commitment to continue the struggle for democracy. The protesters also worked to raise global awareness about the ongoing suffering of people under the military council’s oppression.
Participants in the protest carried anti-dictatorship signs and posters, including messages condemning the military council’s acts of violence. The demonstrators showed their full support for the Myanmar people’s struggle for democracy and called on the international community to help stop the military council’s brutal actions against the people of Myanmar.
