Protesters peacefully demonstrated while holding banners with the message ‘Continue to struggle for the liberation of the whole country along with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.’ Local residents participated in the demonstration, calling for democracy and freedom.
Salingyi Township is one of the strongholds of public resistance within Sagaing Region, where anti-military dictatorship activities continue to take place. This public movement ahead of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s birthday not only reflects the people’s desire for democracy but also demonstrates their opposition to the military dictatorship. Local residents continue to stand fearlessly for democracy despite the military council’s oppression.
