Protests against military council leader Min Aung Hlaing were held in Bangkok, Thailand on April 4. The demonstrations took place near the Myanmar military embassy and MBK shopping center, with participation from the Dagon North Student Union (All Burma Federation of Student Unions) members and revolutionary comrades based abroad, along with Myanmar citizens living in Thailand.
Protesters held signs opposing Min Aung Hlaing near the Myanmar military embassy and conducted peaceful demonstrations near MBK shopping center with placards containing messages against the military dictatorship. During the protests, demonstrators also displayed signs demanding an end to war crimes being committed against Myanmar people and calling for democracy.
However, on April 3, a Myanmar citizen named Ko Phyo Paing was arrested by Thai police near the Shangri-La Hotel where he had gone to protest against Min Aung Hlaing. Ko Phyo Paing remains in Thai police custody, and his friends have expressed concerns about his possible deportation to Myanmar. There are serious concerns that if he is deported to Myanmar, he could face arrest and torture by the military council.
