
On June 19, the Salingyi Township Strike Coalition held a protest demonstration against the military dictatorship. Protesters demanded the release of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners. Participants in the protest march carried signs with the message ‘Continue to Fight for the Freedom of Aung San Suu Kyi and the Entire Country’ while conducting their peaceful demonstration.
During the protest, demonstrators called for opposition to the military dictatorship, condemnation of the military coup, release of detained political leaders and imprisoned political prisoners, and restoration of civilian government. The Strike Coalition pledged to continue fighting united against the military dictatorship system. The protesters raised their voices for condemning the military council’s violence against civilians, stopping arbitrary arrests and detention, and establishing a genuine democratic system.
The protest march demonstrated their opposition to the military dictatorship through peaceful assembly, showing that the people are fighting for justice through civilian power. The protesters emphasized their commitment to continue resisting until democracy is restored and all political prisoners, including Aung San Suu Kyi, are released.
