
Local residents in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, held a protest against the military dictatorship to commemorate the death anniversary of Comrade Aung Zay, who fell during the revolution. People from villages in the northern part of Yinmabin Township gathered at the mausoleum of the fallen comrade to pay respects to all the heroes who sacrificed their lives during the Spring Revolution, marking 2 years and 5 months since Comrade Aung Zay’s death.
During the protest, participants prayed and shared merits for the complete end of the military dictatorship, justice for all comrades who have fallen under military rule, and the restoration of people’s power. They expressed their opposition to the military dictatorship while holding anti-military dictatorship signboards and posters. The demonstration served as a powerful reminder of the ongoing resistance against military rule in the region.
Yinmabin Township has been a strong center of resistance against the military dictatorship since the early days of the Spring Revolution. The area has suffered significant casualties due to the military council’s violent crackdowns, with many local residents losing their lives and numerous others forced to flee their homes as internally displaced persons. Despite these hardships, the local people continue to bravely fight against the military dictatorship, showing unwavering determination in their struggle for democracy and justice.
