
On July 19, 2023, in Yangon, the Popa Guerilla Force (PGF) held a solemn ceremony commemorating the 78th Martyrs’ Day. During the ceremony, special tribute was paid to General Aung San and other martyred leaders who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The event also honored the fallen comrades who gave their lives for people’s liberation during the Spring Revolution.
The ceremony particularly recognized the valor and patriotism of Comrades Bo Oo, Ye Kyaung, and Nagar, who fell during the battle of Taung Taw village. PGF members laid wreaths and performed a gun salute in honor of the fallen comrades. Local residents and force members attended the ceremony, remembering the sacrifices made by the martyred leaders. The event demonstrated deep respect for those who gave their lives in service of the country’s freedom struggle.
The Popa Guerilla Force continues to carry forward the legacy of the martyred leaders who played crucial roles in Myanmar’s independence movement, working for the benefit of the people. This Martyrs’ Day commemoration ceremony was organized with the aim of inspiring younger generations to maintain their patriotic spirit and national consciousness, following in the footsteps of those who sacrificed everything for the nation’s freedom and democracy.
