A police officer from Hakha Police Station in Chin State has defected from the military council’s control and joined the people’s revolution, bringing weapons and ammunition to the Chinland Defense Force-Hakha (CDF-Hakha). On July 6, the police officer arrived with a G3 rifle, one ammunition magazine, and a communication device, expressing his desire to oppose the military council and participate in the people’s revolution. Officials from CDF-Hakha warmly welcomed him, offering monetary rewards and guaranteeing to ensure his safe passage to a secure location.
A responsible official from CDF-Hakha explained that since their forces have surrounded Hakha city, anyone leaving the city naturally reaches their positions. They encouraged other security forces under the military council to defect before the battle for taking control of Hakha begins. The organization has consistently welcomed those who do not wish to continue serving under the military council’s oppression and has promised to take responsibility for ensuring their safety until they reach secure locations.
The defection of security forces from the military council’s control to the people’s side represents a significant blow to the military council and an advantage for the people’s revolution. Therefore, CDF-Hakha continues to invite members of forces under the military council to join the people’s side with their weapons and ammunition. Officials say that this police officer’s defection serves as a positive example for other service members who might be considering similar actions. The organization maintains its commitment to assisting those who choose to leave the military council’s oppressive regime and join the democratic forces fighting for the people’s cause.
