A police officer stationed in Thaung Tha city, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region, has defected from the military council forces and joined the Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) forces, bringing weapons and ammunition with him. The police officer initially made contact with the MBT forces on April 22 and officially defected with his weapons on April 26. The MBT forces awarded him with a reward of 2.5 million kyats, as disclosed by MBT leader Colonel Mike Khae.
The MBT forces are actively inviting members of the military council forces, police force, people’s militia, and Pyu Saw Htee members to defect and join them with their weapons. Those interested in defecting can contact the MBT forces through their Facebook Messenger. The reward amount will be determined based on the type and quantity of weapons brought. Additionally, Colonel Mike Khae explained that those who wish to continue serving in the revolution will be assigned duties, while those who prefer to live peacefully with their families will be relocated to secure locations.
The MBT forces have expressed their strong welcome for such defections from the military council forces and remain committed to accepting all those who wish to escape from the military council’s oppression. They have assured that they will take full responsibility for the safety and security of those who defect, and will also provide necessary assistance to their family members. The MBT forces emphasized their dedication to protecting and supporting both the defectors and their families, ensuring their well-being in secure locations away from the military council’s influence.
