The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has confirmed the successful downing of a military council aircraft in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the death of its pilot, according to PLA Information Officer Comrade Ni Ni Kyaw. The incident occurred during the battle for Kan Daung camp in Pale Township on June 10 at 12:15 PM. The aircraft was shot down and crashed in Saparsay village, with confirmation of the pilot’s death. The incident marks a significant achievement in the ongoing resistance against the military council’s aerial operations.
Search operations at the crash site revealed a total of four bodies – three were discovered inside a house near the crash site, while one was found in the surrounding compound area. Most of the recovered bodies were severely burned in the post-crash fire, with some partially burned, making it difficult to distinguish between the pilot’s remains and potential civilian casualties. The intense fire damage has complicated the identification process, though the presence of four bodies has been definitively confirmed by PLA officials.
The PLA continues its efforts to identify the exact type of aircraft that was shot down while maintaining offensive operations against the military council’s camp in Kan Daung village. This successful operation represents a significant victory in the people’s liberation struggle and has been recorded as a notable engagement that has effectively diminished the military council’s air power capabilities. The PLA maintains its commitment to protecting civilian populations while conducting strategic operations against military council forces in the region.
