A much-needed photocopier and an ICOM radio have been donated to a National Unity Government (NUG) education school in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, through the support of the Anyar Pistine Thaung Lay Group on behalf of donors. This community-based school serves as a crucial educational institution for over 300 students who have been displaced from the regular education system due to the ongoing conflict. The donation was facilitated through the efforts of a Korean monk from Daegu, working in coordination with World Mercy Korea.
The donated equipment serves two vital purposes for the school’s operations. The photocopier will enable the production of essential educational materials and documents for the students, while the ICOM radio will play a crucial role in the school’s air defense warning system, helping to protect students and staff from potential air strikes. This support demonstrates the ongoing commitment of international organizations and local groups to maintaining educational opportunities in conflict-affected areas.
These educational institutions represent a critical lifeline for communities affected by the military takeover, which has severely disrupted the conventional education system across many regions of Myanmar. The schools operated under the National Unity Government provide essential educational services to children of internally displaced persons and others who have lost access to formal education. Such donations play a vital role in sustaining these alternative education systems, ensuring that children can continue their education despite the challenging circumstances. The support from both local and international donors highlights the collaborative effort to maintain educational opportunities for Myanmar’s youth in areas where traditional schooling has become impossible due to the ongoing conflict.
