
Local residents from villages in the northern region of Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, held an anti-military dictatorship protest today, June 3, organizing as a people’s strike column. During the protest, local civilians marched while carrying signs with slogans opposing the military dictatorship, calling for the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system, and supporting the revolution against the fascist military. The protesters demanded an end to the military council’s violence against civilians, the termination of the military dictatorship, and the establishment of democracy.
Yinmabin Township is one of the areas most affected by military council offensive operations within Sagaing Region. The military council forces have been forcing local civilians into military service, using them as human shields in military operations, burning down villages, and arbitrarily arresting and killing innocent civilians. As a result, local residents united to protest against the military dictatorship system, showing their solidarity in opposition to these oppressive actions.
The protesters made a firm resolution to continue their fight for democracy, freedom, and justice until the complete overthrow of the military dictatorship system. It was learned that the people from villages in northern Yinmabin area stand united with the People’s Defense Forces who are fighting against the military dictatorship and will continue their struggle until the end of the military dictatorship system.
