On June 14, a protest against the military dictatorship was held in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, led by the People’s Force protest column. Local residents, youth, and activists participated in the demonstration, chanting slogans demanding an end to military dictatorship, the restoration of civilian power, and the return of democracy.
The People’s Force protest column marched systematically through the town’s streets, demonstrating their opposition to the military dictatorship. Protesters called for an end to the military council’s violence, arrests, and oppression against civilians. They also voiced concerns about the suffering of the people due to the military council’s poor management of the country’s economic, social, educational, and healthcare sectors.
Yinmabin Township is known as a stronghold of anti-military dictatorship activism within the Sagaing Region, and local residents have been supporting the National Unity Government (NUG) and People’s Defense Forces since the beginning of the military coup. During the protest, security measures were carefully implemented to avoid potential arrests and persecution by military council forces.
