On August 31, the People’s Force protest column led a demonstration in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, against the military dictatorship and its planned sham election. Protesters carried signs expressing their opposition to the military dictatorship and rejecting the fraudulent election that the military council intends to hold. During the demonstration, participants demanded an end to the military council’s violence against civilians, the release of political prisoners, and the complete abolition of the military dictatorship system.
Yinmabin Township is one of the areas in Sagaing Region where local residents have been forced to flee their homes due to military council offensives. The military council forces have been burning down civilian homes, looting properties, and arbitrarily arresting and killing innocent civilians. As a result, local people have joined the revolutionary movement in opposition to the military council’s acts of violence. The residents continue to resist despite the ongoing brutal crackdown by the military forces.
The People’s Force protest column has been consistently carrying out anti-dictatorship activities and fearlessly confronting the military council’s violence. The protesters at the demonstration pledged to continue their united struggle for the collapse of the military dictatorship, the emergence of a federal democratic system, and the establishment of a just society. They emphasized their determination to maintain resistance against the military council’s oppression and their commitment to achieving genuine democracy for the country.
