The People’s Defense Forces have successfully captured and destroyed a military outpost in Kyet Ma Nak village, Htone Gyi Township, Bago Region, as confirmed by the information and finance officer of the Gyobingauk Hero Guerrilla Force. The battle, which began at 7 AM on May 10, lasted until 11:30 AM, during which the resistance forces effectively engaged approximately 60 military council troops stationed at the outpost. After intense exchanges of fire, the military council forces eventually abandoned their position and retreated from the outpost.
During the battle, there were significant casualties on the military council’s side, though exact numbers are still being investigated. The military council deployed two aircraft that conducted bombing runs during the engagement, but these aerial attacks proved ineffective against the resistance forces. The aircraft continued to circle the area afterward but did not conduct any further strikes. The resistance forces successfully seized six motorcycles, one car, and various other equipment from the outpost before burning it down. The operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of the resistance forces in conducting coordinated military operations against established military positions.
The attack was carried out through a joint operation between multiple resistance groups, including the Southern Military Region’s No. 2 Military Sub-Region, Thayarwaddy District PDF Battalion 3801’s Unit 5 (Gyobingauk HERO Guerrilla Force), and Thayarwaddy District Battalion 3601’s Unit 3. The operation concluded with no casualties among the resistance forces, who were able to withdraw safely after achieving their objectives. This successful operation represents a significant blow to the military council’s control in the region and showcases the effectiveness of coordinated resistance activities. The capture and destruction of this outpost demonstrate the growing tactical capabilities of the People’s Defense Forces in their ongoing struggle against the military council’s forces.
